After sporting a beard for years, Johnsen suddenly decided to shave it off. The very next day he complained to his neighbour that his wife had left him. “Hard, luck, old man,” was the reply. “By the way, do you think that shaving off your—cr —beard had anything to do with it?” “I do." said Johnson. ‘Fact is. when she saw me without it, she said: “Now I know why I never really liked you.”
