OBITUARY

f MRS ELIZABETH MARY CARTER. The death occurred yesterday of Mrs Elizabeth Mary Carter, wife of Mr John Carter, of 15 King Edward Street, Lansdowne. The late Mrs Carter (nee Hodder) was well-known in the South Wairarapa, having been born at Featherston 76 years ago. She, with her husband, followed farming pursuits, was one of the original settlers of trie Eketahuna district. Following the retirement of her husband ten years ago she had since resided in Masterton. During her residence in Eketahuna she was closely connected with the Methodist Church and in Lansdowne was a staunch supporter of the Presbyterian Church. ' Mrs Carter is survived by her husband, four sons—-Messrs E. (New Plymouth), Thomas (Auckland) George and James' Carter (Lower Hutt) —and two daughters, Mrs Hydman (Lower Hutt) and Miss E. Carter (Lansdowne). The funeral will take place on Monday, leaving the residence, following a service at 10.30 a.m. for the Masterion Cemetery.
