LATE MR A. E. BRITTAIN

FUNERAL IN MASTERTON. The funeral of the late Mr A. E. Brittain, of Eketahuna, who died at Feilding, was held at Masterton on Wednesday. The late Mr Brittain was born at Newport, Shropshire, England. He served with the New Zealand forces in the Great War, and was wounded. On his return to New Zealand he took up farming in the Eketahuna district, where he resided until his death. He is survived by his widow and son and daughter. Two sisters and one brother reside in England, and -one brother in Canada. The service at the funeral was conducted by the Rev. V. W. Joblin. The pallbearers were Messrs T. Lowes, A. lorns,. W. A. Cave, H. S. Mason, H. Brookes, and J. B. Carruthers. Among the many wreaths were tributes from the Returned Soldiers’ Association, Eketahuna County Council, Eketahuna Club, and the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union.
