A distinguished gathering joined in paying tribute to the work of the Governor-General, Viscount Galway, during his term in the Dominion, which is soon to expire, at a State luncheon in his honour at Parliament Buildings, Wellington, yesterday. The Prime Minister, Mr Fraser, who presided, said Lord Galway was taking back to his Majesty the King and the people of Great Britain New Zealand’s admiration and gratitude for the fight they were putting up for themselves and for the peoples of the Dominions. Lord Galway said he, his wife and his family would' leave with very deep regrets and would always remember the kindnesses they had been shown during their stay in the Dominion.
