DEMOCRATIC LABOUR
< MASTERTOM BRANCH MEETING. IMPROMPTU ADDRESSES. The monthly meeting of the Masterton branch of the New Zealand Democratic Labour Party was held in the Y.M.C.A. Rooms last night. The president, Mr E. J. Esler, was in the chair. Several apologies for absence were received. Five new members were elected. After .general business had been dealt with, six members spoke for five minutes each on di (Terent phases of the political situation. From the form shown in the impromptu addresses it is expected that a first class debating team will be formed in the near future. A cnallenge to a debate received from the Ekctahuna branch was accepted and the subject chosen.
