OBITUARY

SIR HUGH DENISON. <By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) SYDNEY, November 23. The death occurred today in Melbourne of Sir Hugh Denison, chairman of Associated Newspapers, Limited, the publishers of the Sydney “Sun,” “Sunday Sun” and other publications. He was a notable figure in business and public life in Sydney and at his death was aged 75. He was attending the Melbourne Cup carnival when he became ill and remained there till his death. SIR STANLEY ARGYLE. MELBOURNE. November 23. The death was announced in Melbourne today of Sir Stanley Argyle, a former Premier of Victoria. Sir Stanley Argyle was aged 73. He had been Leader of the Opposition in the Victorian Legislative Assembly since 1935.
