DAYLIGHT BOMBING
ALL PLANES RETURN SAFELY. BAD WEATHER PREVENTS NIGHT OPERATIONS. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 10.42 a.m.) RUGBY, November 12. An Air Ministry communique states: “During daylight operations yesterday attacks were made on a submarine base at Lorient and on aerodromes at Brest,. St. Brieux and St. Malo. All our aircraft returned safely. “No operations were carried out over German last night, owing to bad weather.”
LULL IN ATTACKS FEEBLE ENEMY EFFORTS AGAINST BRITAIN. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 11.30 a.m.) RUGBY, November 12. Enemy activity during daylight today was confined to raids by small numbers of aircraft, operating singly. The Air Ministry announces that one one of these was shot down at sea, off the south-east coast. Bombs were dropped at a few points, including one in the London area. A small number of casualties and little damage are reported. SEVEN HOURS’ ALERT . WITH LONG CLEAR PERIOD. (Received This Day, 11.10 a.m.) LONDON, November 12. Since early on Monday, London has had only seven hours’ alert, about half of that time during daylight. The weather is believed to be partly responsible.
