MOTOR VEHICLES

FOR NATIONAL DEFENCE & ARMY TRAINING. URGENT CALL BY GOVERNMENT. A Government advertisement in today’s issue expresses an urgent desire for information regarding sound motor vehicles which their owners are prepared to transfer to the Government for purposes of National Defence and Army training. The Government is particularly interested in trucks of from 1-ton to 2-tons capacity and information is also required regarding the availability of motor-cycles and a ♦ limited number of modern motor-cars. Owners are asked to provide full particulars of their vehicles and to state whether they are prepared to make them available to the Government for hire or with the option of purchase. The urgency of early response is emphasised.
