INTERHOUSE SPORTS

MEETING OF ASSOCIATION DRAW FOR PLACES OF TEAMS. At a meeting of the committee of the Wairarapa Interhouse Association held in the Y.M.C.A. last evening, Mr. Daubney presided over a full attendance of members. It was decided that the cup donated by Woolworths be given to the winner of the ladies 100 yards championship. The crippled children under the care of the Wairarapa Crippled Children Society and the boys and girls from the various local orphanages are to be invited to be present and will be admitted free to the grounds. It was decided that a small donation be made to the League of Mothers’ choir for the use of music and song sheets at the girls’ concert. Should the weather conditions be unfavourable and the display postponed arrangements will be made to have it broadcast through 2YA and 2ZB on the morning of the display. It was left to Mr. J. Bruce to arrange a suitable date with the Swimming Club for the annual Interhouse Swimming Carnival. Minor details in connection with the display were finalised and it was anticipated that this year's gathering would be the best yet held in Masterton.

Messrs. Pawson and McChesney were appointed scrutineers for the drawing of places for the various teams. The result being as follows:— Borthwicks 1; Regent Hosiery 2; W.F.C.A.. Ltd. 3: State Kitchenette 4; Leecroft 5; Associated Garages 6; Stock and Station Agents 7; Hugo and Shearer. Ltd. 8; Watson and Co. (Carterton). 9; J. Graham and Co. 10; J. R. McKenzie. Ltd. 11; Macduff's 12; Codys 13: Masterion Combined Offices 14. A party of visitors to Masterton state that the type of girl taking part in the interhouse and drilling practices was! the finest they had seen in their tour of New Zealand. Any girl or team interested in competing in the N.I. Interhouse Championship to be held in New Plymouth at Christmas is requested to communicate with Mr. J. W. Hayden after the massed drill practice at the park tonight. 1
