GREYTOWN
VOLUNTEER FIRE BRIGADE ASSISTANT SECRETARY APPOINTED. (“Times-Age” Special.) At the monthly meeting of the Greytown Volunteer Fire Brigade Superintendent J. Wood presided over a full attendance of members. Fireman T. Gray w'as appointed assistant secretary. The secretary was instructed to request the Borough Council to repaint the discs around fire plugs. The members stood in silence out of respect to the memory of the late Mr J. Braggins who died recently in Wellington. The late Mr Braggins was a life member of the Greytown Fire Brigade. KICKED BY A HORSE WOMAN SERIOUSLY INJURED. At Ahikouka yesterday Mrs Betty Malcolm received serious injuries to her face and head when she was kicked by a horse which she was endeavouring to catch. Dr. Oakey was called in and Mrs Malcolm was taken to the Greytown Hospital This morning the Hospital authorities report that hen condition is unchanged. Mrs Malcolm is a daughter of Mr O. A. Cadwallader. Presbyterian Garden Party. Mrs A. Johnson has kindly offered her garden for the Presbyterian Garden Party to be held at the end of the month.
