FEATHERSTON
WEEKLY DANCE SOLDIERS ENTERTAINED. (“Times-Age” ■ Special.) Miss Card and Mrs D. C. Collins were the hostesses at the weekly soldiers dance held on Saturday night. There was a very large attendance, there being a large number of men present from Tauherenikau Military Training School. Udy’s orchestra supplied the music and Mr. G. Hyland was M.C. The buffet supper arrangements were in the hands of the Kahutara zone ladies. The proceeds from the dance are to go towards the patriotic appeal. Alleged Interference with Lights. It is understood that a number of persons have been caught interfering with the lights used in connection with the road excavations, and more will be heard of the matter. St. John’s Church. There was a good attendance at St. John’s Church Day of Giving Services yesterday. The preacher in the evening was the Rev. E. O. Shield, of Upper Hutt. Personal. Private D. Ward of the Trentham Camp, was a weekend visitor to Featherston.
