TE ORE ORE
ENJOYABLE SOCIAL PRESENTATION TO SOLDIERS. (“Times-Age” Special.) There was a large gathering at the Native Meeting House at Te Ore Ore last night when residents of the Te Ore Ore and surrounding districts tended a social to Privates L. Webster and A. Clayton. The function was organised by the Te Ore Ore Hockey Club. Music was supplied by Te Tau’s Melody Makers, and the duties of M.C. were carried out by Mr E. Pura. Several novelty dances were held. Songs were contributed ’ by Misses Corine Hiroti and Wai Nini. On behalf of Te Ore Ore residents, Mr J. McDonald made a presentation to Private Clayton, and the Rev H. Taepa handed a gift to Private Webster on behalf of the Te Ore Ore Hockey Club. The recipients suitably acknowledged the gifts. The singing of Auld Lang Syne and the National Anthem brought a successful gathering to a close.
