Trench law was withdrawn from the New Zealand Cup at 12.5 p.m. yesterday, and Duncannon was taken out of the Stewards’ Handicap at the same time. First Ride. W. Caddy, who is booked to have his first ride on Saturday, is a brother of M. and R. Caddy, and is apprenticed to G. Ridgway. M. Caddy, who attended the Wellington meeting, is remaining in the north for the Rangitikei fixture. Because of L. J. Ellis having the mount on Royal Chief in the New Zealand Cup. M. Caddy has been booked to ride Passaform.
