Eulogist has been suffering from sore heels for some time, and difficulty is being experienced in overcoming the trouble. This accounted for his poor race at Washdyke last month, for his absence from Rangiora, and for his withdrawal from Motukarara. Royal Chief's Earnings. Royal Chief’s two successes at Trentham brought his total stake earnings in New Zealand and Australia to £17,237 for 21 wins and 23 minor placings in 60 starts. | Nev/ Zealand Cup Riders. L. J. Ellis will ride Royal Chief in I the New Zealand Cup, and B. H. Morris will be back on The Buzzer. The services of H. N. Wiggins have been sought again for Capricious in the New Zealand Cup. but this rider will be required for Te Kawiti. Wiggins has a choice of at least five in the Stewards' Handicap. Should Win Some Money. Wanganui will not be as strongly represented at Bulls on Saturday as usual, but Taurangi. Dynasty, Curtail. All Bunsby, and Gold Gain will be on hand, and between them should win some of the stake money. Taurangi did no harm by her one race at Trentharn, and she promises to start at a short price in the principal event, the McKelvic Memorial Handicap. Should she win on Saturday her prospects of getting into the money in the New Zealand Cup will look very bright. Followers of the Fordell stable are very confident that the Beau Pere mare will run out two miles all right, and she will carry a lot of Wanganui money at Riccarton, al| going well in the meantime.
