CYCLIST INJURED
ACCIDENT AT LANSDOWNE. VICTIM TAKEN TO HOSPITAL. As the result of being knocked down by a motor car on the Masterton —Te Ore Ore Main Highway, near the intersection of Gordon Street, at 5.20 o’clock yesterday afternoon, a cyclist. William Fairchild, aged 13 years, of Renall Street, Masterton, was admitted to Masterton Hospital with a broken thigh and head injuries. He was reported to bo in a satisfactory condition on enquiry at the hospital this morning. It is understood that the accident occurred when a car, driven by Miss Zelma M. Mexted. aged 18, of Sutherland Crescent, Melrose, Wellington was overtaking two cyclists on the straight before reaching the corner of Gordon Street. Medical assistance was given to the injured boy by Dr N. H. Prior, of Masterton.
