GREYTOWN

WOMEN’S DIVISION BUSINESS AT MONTHLY MEETING. ("Times-Age” Special.) There was a good attendance of members and visitors at a meeting yesterday of the Greytown branch ol the Women’s Division of the Farmers' Union. Mrs R. Beu presided. Sympathy was expressed with Mrs F. Kempton and Mrs Thompson in their bereavements. Mrs Beu reported that the sum of £33 14s 6d had been forwarded by the Greytown branch to the fighter appeal fund. In response to the Leper Appeal members contributed £2 3s 3d, also a number of parcels. Mesdames E. Graham (Levin), Tully, Kidd and Barcham were thanked for used stamps. The speaker was Mrs Barcham. Featherston. who gave a most interesting talk on "The Life of Florence Nightingale.” Mrs A. Clark, Featherston, spoke kindly of the Greytown branch and its activities. Mrs Beu thanked the speakers and presented them with shoulder sprays, which were the work of Mrs H. Bayliss. Afternoon tea served by Mesdames Barcham, Nisbet, York and O’Neale, was appreciated and they were accorded a vote of thanks. The meeting closed with the singing of the National Anthem. Personal. Sapper J. Brady, of the 14th Railway Company, Third Echelon, reports that he is fit and well. Mrs Brady is at present staying with her parents, Mr and Mrs W. Raison, McMaster Street.
