COMMONWEALTH POLITICAL PARTIES BASIS SOUGHT FOR NATIONAL GOVERNMENT. PREMIER AND . INDEPENDENTS. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) CANBERRA, October 21.. After two hours’ further discussion today the all-party political conference which is trying to find a basis for a national government adjourned till tomorrow afternoon. The Prime Minister, Mr. Menzies, today had a long talk with the Independent candidate, Mr. Wilson, whose unequivocal support for the Government policy, together with the co-operation of the other Independent, Mr Coles, vfrould enable Mr. Menzies to set about the formation of a Government on the lines of his election programme.
