SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH

SERVICES OF DEPARTMENT. _ AVAILABLE TO INDUSTRY. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, October 21. The fact that the services of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research were available for the investigation of technical and industrial problems of all kinds was emphasised by the Minister in charge of the department, Dr. McMillan, in an interview tonight. “It does not seem to be generally realised that the department undertakes scientific investigation into all kinds of technical and industrial problems,” the Minister said. “If any manufacturers have difficulties with manufacturing processes and make their problems known the department will be very pleased to help them. Most industrial problems can be solved by the application of science to industry, and I am sure that if manufacturers know that this service is available it will help to remove many of their difficulties.”
