TE WHARAU
♦ PATRIOTIC DANCE (“Times-Age” Special.) On Saturday evening last one of the most successful dances of the season was held in the local hall, the proceeds of which amounting to almost £9 are to be handed to the Distress in London Fund. Several competitions were held, Mr and Mrs Aplin winning the spot waltz and Mrs Nitz and Mr Cave the Lucky Chain Medley. Mrs A. McGregor won the case of apples and Mr and Mrs Aplin, “Lands End,” the turkey. The committee wish to thank all those who patronised the function, Mrs lan McGregor and Mr R. L. McKinstry for supplying the programme' of dance music and the ladies who provided the supper.
