TABLE TENNIS ‘ CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS. (“Times-Age” Special.) On Tuesday night the Featherston Table Tennis Club held-its club championships. The results are as follow: Men’s singles: —First round: J. Saba beat M. McNamara, 21/9, 21/5; B. Dick beat D. Sim, 21/14, 21/16; A. McNamara beat R. Lovegrove, 21/7, 21/9; A. McLeod won by default from H. Lovegrove. Second round: B. Dick beat J. Saba, 21/11, 21/20; A. McNamara beat A. McLeod, 21/5, 17/21, 21/11. Final. A. McNamara beat B. Dick, 21/18, 18/21, 21/18. Ladies’ singles:—First round: Miss C. Saba beat O. McLeod, 17/21, 21/20, 21/14; Miss J. Marshall beat F. Saba, 21/17. 16/21. 21/17; Miss E. Saba won by default from J. Jensen. Second round: Miss C. Saba beat J. Marshall, 21/14, 14/21, 21/16; Miss E. Saba a bye. Final’: Miss C. Saba beat E Saba, 19/21, 21/12, 21/19. CROQUET INTERCLUB MATCH. The following were the results of the games played in the match between the Featherston and Haunui Croquet Clubs yesterday, Featherston players being mentioned first in each instance: — Mesdames Saunders and Benton 26, Miss Esma Card and Mrs Wakeley 21; Mesdames Hyland and O’Neale 26, Miss Nix and Mrs Hankers, 23. Singles: Mrs Saunders 26, Miss Esma Card, 25; Mrs Hyland 22, Miss Nix 26; Mrs O’Neale 26, Mrs Wakeley 4; Mrs Benton 26, Mrs Hankers, 24. GOLF The final L.G.U. medal round was played yesterday by lady golfers on the Gum Grove links the result being: —Mrs Donald 1, Mrs J. B. Davis 2, Miss M. Ruane 3. A special trophy donated by Miss Williams was won by Miss M. Ruane. The season will be closed on Saturday. Personal Items. Mrs Chas. Nix, who has been an inmate of Kelvin Hospital, suffering from an injury to a leg, has now returned to her home. Mr and Mrs T. H. Lowry, Hawke’s Bay, are the guests of Mrs Chas. Elgar, Fernside.
