* USE OF LATE MR WHATMAN’S , HOME. MINISTER GIVES CONSENT. The Minister of Health, Mr H. T; Armstrong, advised the Wairarapa Hospital Board at its meeting today that he had consented to the establishment by the Board of an institution for the reception and relief of aged people and for the treatment of convalescent patients in terms under the A. P. Whatman bequest of “Panama.” Approval was also given of the proposed expenditure of £693 in carrying out alterations to the residence of the late Mr Whatman. The letter was received and the matter left in the hands -of the finance committee. The board paid a visit of inspection to “Panama” this afternoon.
