GOLF AT TE WHARAU

COMPETITION WINNERS. (“Times-Age” Special.) On the last playing day the finals for the Te Wharau Club’s stableford competitions were played. Mrs J. Bannister won the ladies’ competition and S. Gray won the men’s competition, the latter handing in the best card for the day with a 67 net and a 31 stableford. Miss Schofield returned the best card for the ladies with 67 and 32 stableford. Mrs Bannister defeated Mrs Nitz in a Kummerstein Cup match and is all square with Mrs A. McGregor, and the two play the final this week.

On October 20 club members will be the guests at the closing of the season by the Tyneside club. Miss Schofield and M. Turvey defeated Mrs Read and W. Kummer (holders) in a challenge for the silver buttons. 4 '
