Pyrenees Runs Well. Improved after his race on the first day, when he ran second to Kinkle. the third fancy Pyrenees scored in good style in the Onehunga Steeplechase at the meeting at Ellerslie yesterday. Celtic Lad made most of the running from Pyrenees, who took charge on the hill the second time from Gar Vaals, British Sovereign and Willen. Crossing the stone wall into the straight Pyrenees and Gar Vaals were several lengths clear of British Sovereign and Willen and they came together to the last fence, where Gar Vaals blundered badly and lost his rider. Pyrenees then went on to win easily by four lengths from British Sovereign. Willen was 10 lengths away third and Celtic Lad. the only other to finish was a moderate fourth. Lovelilt and Cockalarum fell and Searcher was pulled up.
