ON THE OPAKI TRACK
GALLOPS THIS MORNING COURSE IN SPLENDID ORDER. SOME GOOD TIMES RECORDED. There was a large number of horses out on the track at Opaki early this morning, B. Kelleher being the first with his string. Defy and Te Ore went over four furlongs in 50. with Defy doing slightly better than Te Ore. Duncannon was given a five.furlong gallop and was going nicely, the time being 1.2. Trebor and Beau Ciel went fiVe furlongs in 1.4 with Beau Ciel having the better of the going. Beau Coureur and Kadina did four furlongs, the time for the last three furlongs being 371. Etzel was sent over six furlongs and was going nicely, the time for the last five furlongs being 1.3 1-5. Metonoriiy, Vivid Night and Ramillies went over four furlongs in 491 with the first two just shading the latter. Serenata ran three furlongs in 38sec. and appeared to be very well. Ruling Star and Larwood were sent over four hurdles and both accomplished their task fairly well. Gay Fox was also put over four hurdles with Ashley Jenkins up. Counter was given fairly easy work. He looks exceptionally fit and should give a good account of. himself at the. meeting. Cheerful Lady. White Rajah, Prime Quality. Master Solway. Pearl of Asia, Namesake. Hamish. Pillory and Master Cyklon were all given fairly easy work. The course is in splendid order and accounted largely for the good times recorded. RIDERS AT OPAKI.
