OBITUARY MRS W. COLMAN. ("Times-Age” Special.) The death occurred on Friday at a private hospital in Auckland of Mrs W. Colman, a well known resident of the Martinborough district. The deceased, who was 69 years of age, had been in ill health for some weeks past. Her death will be deeply regretted by a wide circle of friends in this district. The late Mrs Colman took a prominent part in all social and patriotic activities in the district. A husband, son, and two daughters are left to mourn their loss. GOLF SEASON CLOSED PRESENTATION OF PRIZES. The official closing of tlpe 1940 golf season and the presentation of prizes took place on Saturday. Miss M. C. Martin (president) presented the prizes as follow: — Ladies’ senior championship: Miss C. E. Baker. Ladies’ junior championship: Mrs H. T. Parsons. Ladies' C grade championship: Mrs E. C. Sadd. Men’s senior championship: Mr I. Charles. Men’s junior championship: Mr F. P. Dully. Men’s C grade championship: Mr J. A. Beveridge. Hitching Cup: Mrs A. C. Caseley. Martin Cup: Mr E. C. Sadd. J. D. McDougall Rose Bowl: Mrs A. C. Caseley. Campbell Sievers Memorial Cup: Mr H. F. Harvey. L.G.U. Silver Medal: Miss M. Harvey. L.G.U. Bronze Medal: Mrs A. C. Caseley. Lady Captain's Trophy: Mrs T. A. Knutson; club-captain’s prizes to runners up in men’s championships, senior. W. G. Martin, junior. F. V. Rankine. C grade, Mr J. Kershaw; eclectic competition, Mrs Charles; Yankee tournament, Mrs Knutson; most points in Wednesday competition, Mrs Knutson; most points in Saturday competitions, Mrs Caseley 5, Miss Harvey 3, Mrs Knutson 3. Mrs Griffiths 3. Mrs Charles 3, Miss Baker 2. Mrs Baker 1. Mrs Parsons 1; closing day mixed foursome, Miss Blundell and J. Kershaw. Afternoon tea was provided by Mrs G. Pain, the patron of the club.
