GREYTOWN
OBITUARY MR F. C. MORGAN. (“Times-Age" Special.) The death occurred on Sunday night at his residence McMaster Street, of Mr Frederick Charles Morgan. The late Mr Morgan was born in Masterton and was 65 years of age. He had 'resided in the Wairarapa for a great many years. He was one of the pioneers in the fruit industry in the Greytown district. He had been in poor health for some time. He is survived by his widow and three sons, Messrs Charles, Cecil and Walter Morgan, of Greytown, and two daughters, Mrs Charles, of Masterton, and Mrs Ireson, Trentham. Personal Items. Mrs F. J. Brooks, is at present on a visit to her son at Palmerston North. Mr E. Greathead, of Eketahuna, was a visitor to Greytown for the weekend. Stall-Sergeant J. W. Tate, spent the weekend at Greytown. Private B. Kiernan, who is in camp at Dannevirke, was home for the weekend. Mr and Mrs W. Thompson, of Morison’s Bush, have disposed of their farm and will leave next week to reside in Wellington. Bowling. Greytown bowlers attended the official opening of the Martinborough green on Saturday. It is expected that Greytown will have six new players this year, and also two old members will be playing again this year—Rev Knowles Smith, and Mr J. Stringfellow. Golf. The play off for the president’s trophies took place on Saturday afternoon, the winners being. Mrs Nicholson and Mr H. Bull, who defeated Mrs Gregor and Mr E. Williams. The local links will be closed next week on account of the long grass.
