GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP FINALS. (“Times-Age” Special.) The best cards handed in in connection with Stableford competitions held by the Martinborough Golf Club were: — Senior. —M. Perry, 25, 8, 33; L. Chapman 20, 12, 32; C. Moore 23, 9, 32; H. Harvey 28, 4, 32. Junior. —L. Speedy 14, 17, 31; A. Martin 14, 15, 29. Points scored in the Campbell Sievers Memorial Cup were: M. Perry 3, L. Chapman 1,-C. Moore 1, E. Harvey 1. The leading scores are: H. Harvey 11 J, L. Chapman B£, A. Harding 8. The club championship finals resulted as follows: — Senior. —I. Charles beat W. Martin, 1 up at the 37th. Junior. —F. P. Duffy beat F. Rankine, 1 up. C grade.—J. A. Beveridge beat J. Kershaw. In the ladies’ championship the Hnals resulted as follows: — Senior.—Miss Baker beat Miss Harvey. Junior. —Mrs Parsons beat Mrs Caseley. C grade.—Mrs Sadd beat Mrs Boyd. I HOCKEY MATCH WIN FOR LOCAL TEAM. A fast and closely contested game of hockey was played on the Martinborough ground on Saturday afternoon between a team from the Wairarapa College and the local girls, resulting in a win for Martinborough by 2 goals to nil. The winners were much heavier than the visitors, who gave the better display, but found the size and weight of their opponents too much to contend with in the second spell when both scores were registered. F. George and M. McKinley shot the goals for the winners.
