SOLDIERS’ DANCE A SUCCESSFUL GATHERING. (“Times-Age" Special.) Miss Card and Mrs Quentin Donald were the hostesses at the soldiers’ dance held in Anzac Hall on Saturday night. There was large attendance, including a number of visitors from Masterton. Udy’s orchestra supplied the music and Mrs G. Hyland carried out the duties of M.C. The members of the Tauherenikau Ladies’ Zone were in charge of supper arrangements. The gathering was a very enjoyable and successful one. A large number of soldiers were present. GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP RESULTS. The ladies’ championships decided at Rototawai on Saturday resulted as follows: — Senior: —Mrs J. Hornabrook defeated Mrs D. C. Collins, 2 and 1. Intermediate: —Mrs ’B. Feast beat Mrs Pope at 20th. Junior: —Miss C. Bargh beat Miss B. Pope, 2 and 1. In the men’s sections the results were:—Senior, D. C. Collins beat J. Hornabrook. Intermediate: —B. Feast beat W. J. Pope, 2 up. Junior: —A. Juno beat H. P. Pearce.
