WEDDING
OLSEN—CARTER. At Carterton recently the marriage of Winifred Frances Carter to Sergeant Glen George Olsen too'k place, the Rev W. J. Couling performing the ceremony. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a deep cream frock of satin taffeta, the bodice of which was pin tucked into a slim fitting waistline in front. The Peter Pan collar was finished with a spray of orange blossom and the sleeves were full at the shoulders and pointed ovei - the hands. The fully gathered back formed a bustle effect and fell into a long oval train. The cream tulle veil formed a second train. She carried a sheaf of Madonna lilies and freesias. The bridesmaid. Miss Heather McKinnon, wore a frock of green metal run taffeta with gold accessories and carried a bouquet of yellow irises, jonquils and freesias. Private Norman Jones, of Paeroa. was best man. After the ceremony a reception was held, in the St Andrew's Hall. Mrs McKinnon, mother of the bride, received the guests, wearing a grey costume with navy accessories and in her fur she wore a spray of violets and, fern. Later Sergeant and Mrs G. G. Olsen left for the north, the bride wearing a model frock of rust wool georgette and tailored coat with black accessories.
