Mrs C. J. Howie, of Hamilton, is the guest of Mrs J. Swanney, Kaitawa. Mrs C. Brooks, of Palmerston North, was a weekend visitor to Masterton. The death occurred of Miss Eliza Allott, at Kahuranaki (Hawke’s Bay). Born at Styx, Canterbury, in 1858, she came to the North Island a number of years ago, residing at Havelock North. Miss Allott was well known in Havelock North through her association with Presbyterian Church work.
