The Featherston committee of the Lady Galway Patriotic Guild has re- ! ceived parcels of clothing, etc. from ■ Western Lake, Tauherenikau and the ' Women’s Division of the Farmers' Un- ' ion at Pahautea. These gifts have been ; forwarded to headquarters in Welling- ■ ton. MOTOR COLLISION LORRY SLIGHTLY DAMAGED. A collision occurred yesterday at the corner of Fitzherbert and Hickson streets between a motor lorry, owned by Mr F. W. Smith, and driven by Mr J. Cooper, and a Public Works lorry driven by Mr A. Whiteman, of Upper Hutt. Both drivers escaped injury. Mr Smith’s lorry was slightly damaged. TABLE TENNIS WINNERS AT PIHAUTEA. At the fortnightly table tennis competition at Pihautea, the winners were: —Ladies: Miss M. Juno and Miss P. Hood. Men: Mr V. Wood and Master I. Siemonek. GOLF CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS. The following were the best cards handed in for the Shield competition held on Saturday afternoon: —T. Lang, 86, 14, 72; H. Bloxam, 86, 13, 73; J. Davis, 89, 16, 73; H. Lovegrove, 91, 18, 73; J. McLean, 97, 24, 73; L. Benton, SO, 16, 74; A. White, 90, 15, 75. Club championship results: —Senior: W. .Rowles; runner-up, G. O’Neale. Junior: L. Benton; runner-up, J. W. Card. The return match played between the Featherston and Tui Glen clubs at Tui Glen on Sunday, resulted in a win for Tui Glen. Personal Items. Miss P. Paget has returned to Pahiatua after a holiday in Pihautea. Mrs Juno, Pihautea, has returned from a visit to Tauranga. Sapper J. W. Bargh and AirmanPilot V. C. Bargh, have been visiting their parents, Mr and Mrs C. Bargh, Pihautea.
