MILK STANDARDS CASE

9 Some misapprehension is said to have arisen regarding the nature of the milk standard charge brought against Mr O. A. Cadwallader, of Carterton, in the Masterton Magistrate’s Court on Thursday last. As our report of the proceedings showed, Mr Cadwallader was not charged with watering milk, but with supplying milk below standard. The explanation offered by defending counsel was that the offence had been the result of a mischance. The can from which the samples had been taken, he stated, had lost some of its contents without being stirred, and as a result one can was particularly rich and the other was not quite up to standard.
