The Minister of Supplies, Mr D. G. Sullivan, has requested that non-ferrous metals be collected to assist the patriotic fund and New Zealand industry. The earnest co-operation of householders is solicited in furthering this object, and, as advertised, the collection will be carried out by the borough refuse service.

A patriotic dance will bo held by the Masterton Odd Fellows’ Lodge in the Municipal Hall, Masterton, tonight. The door takings will be donated to the Provincial Patriotic Fund. A large attendance is anticipated. A moderate charge is being made for admission, and the Lodge officials hope that their effort on behalf of soldiers will have the support of the public.
