GALLANT AIRMAN
NEW ZEALANDER AWARDED BAR TO D.F.C. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, September 3. Flight Lieutenant A. C. Deere of Wanganui. has been awarded a bar to his D.F.C. The citation fcr the award states: “Since the outbreak of war Flight Lieutenant Deere personally has destroyed 11 enemy planes and probably one other. He has also assisted in the destruction of two more. Flight Lieutenant Deere has displayed conspicuous bravery and determination in pressing home attacks against superior numbers of enemy planes, often, pursuing them across the Channel. He shows outstanding dash and determination as a leader.”
