HUSSIFS FOR SOLDIERS

DONATIONS OF BUTTONS AND SAFETY PINS. SOLICITED BY PATRIOTIC COMMITTEE. The position regarding the preparation by the Masterton Women’s Patriotic Committee of hussifs for soldiers was not stated quite correctly in an item which appeared yesterday. Up to the present, the committee has completed 1400 hussifs, and this has entailed the use of 18,000 buttons. Many more hussifs have yet to be prepared and the committee would be grateful for further donations of shirt and underpants buttons and safety pins. These essential components of the hussifs are at present in short supply.
