COURSING
PATRIOTIC MEETING. Saturday’s events at the Akura Plumpton for the Patriotic Fund will bring coursing to a close for this season.
Altogether six successful meetings have been held this year by the Wairarapa Coursing Club, and it is anticipated that the final one on Saturday will be just as successful. Nominations are coming in satisfactorily for both stakes and there should be good fields, thereby ensuring a splendid afternoon’s coursing. Nominations close at 5 p.m. today with the secretary. The draw takes place in the Y.M.C.A. at 8.30 o’clock tonightt. The executive will meet al. 7.30 to complete Saturday’s arrangements. Officials for Saturday are:—Judge. Mr L. IVI. Archer: slipper. Mr R. McEwen; slip steward. Mr J. Hare; hare steward, Mr J. Hanley; stimulant steward. Mr S. D. Geary; call steward, Mr P. Ryan: gatekeeper, Mr R. Andrew.
