MAORI HOUSING
CONDITIONS AT RATANA VILLAGE DESCRIBED'BY CORONER AS DISGRACEFUL. STATEMENT BY MINISTER. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON. August 27. The Minister of Health (Mr Armstrong), stated today that the Government had not had time to secure a report on the sanitary conditions at the Ratana village, which a coroner described yesterday as disgraceful. “Only within the last few days Cabinet had discussed Maori housing and sanitation and was acting too,” said the Minister.
