TE WHITI

PARCEL EVENING MISS M. YOUNG HONOURED. (“Times-Age” Special.) On Saturday night there was one of the largest attendances at a gathering yet held in the Te Whiti Hall when settlers of the districts tendered a “parcel evening” to Miss Mary Young in honour of her approaching mar riage.

A pleasant time was spent in dancing to music supplied by Mr Jack West and others. Mr Len Pike carried out the duties of M.C. At a suitable interval Miss Young opened the many gift parcels, being assisted by Mr Pike.

Supper was served by the ladies of the district, and the singing of “Auld Lang Syne” and the National Anthem brought an enjoyable function to a close.
