EGYPTIAN ASSURANCE
RESISTANCE TO INVASION WELCOMED IN BRITAIN IMPORTANT ACCRETION OF STRENGTH. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 10 a.m.) RUGBY, August 23. London military circles are gratified with the Egyptian declaration of determination to fight on the British side should an invasion of Egypt be attempted. Not only is the accretion of military strength welcomed —at the beginning of the war the Egyptian army consisted of about 40,000 men —but also because of the spirit in which the declaration was made.
