SOCIAL CLUB ANNUAL MEETING. (“Times-Age” Special.) The annual meeting of the Kopuaranga Social Club was held in the local Hall on Monday. The president Mr S. J. Clarke, presided over a fair attendance of members. An apology for absence was received from Mr C. C. Jackson. The balance sheet was read and adopted.

The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows: —President, Mr S. J. Clarke; joint secretaries. Mrs S. J. Clarke and Mr C. P. Jarrett; cc.mmittee, Mesdames Kenny, Reside. Misses Wright, R. and N. Westhead, M. Clarke and Messrs H. J. Cottle, B. Fenemor, W. Reside and A. Arlidge. The club decided to carry on its activities for war purposes and the junior members have agreed to organise dances and entertainments to that end.

A general discussion took place as to the disposal of the money already collected for the Red Cross Society. It was decided to hand the money over to the Country District’s Sub-Centre to be used to equip a hospital bed. The net profits from the Settlers’ Ball was £2O.

The president thanked the committee and all those who had helped to make the ball such a success, and said that she hoped, that in the coming year the club would continue its good work. A vote of thanks to Mrs’S. J. Clarke concluded the meeting.
