INDOOR BASKETBALL BUSH COMPETITION. ("Times-Age” Special.) In the Pahiatua Drill Hall on Monday night the Bush Basketball Association’s competitions were continued, the results being as follow: —Tuis 27, Hukanui 15; United 22, Stars B 5; Konini A won from Eketahuna by default; Konini B 25, Hamua 7. The fixtures for next Monday night have been arranged as follow: —Konini B v. Hukanui, at 6.30 p.m.; Konini A v. United, at 7.15 p.m.; Stars A v. Stars B, at 8.45 p.m.; Hamua v. Eketahuna, at 9 p.m.

Personal Items. Mr D. Brighouse, who has been senior porter at the local railway station for the past 21- years, has received notice of his transfer to Ashhurst, for which place he will leave on Friday. At a gathering of railwaymen, carriers and mail contractors held at the station last evening, the stationmaster, Mr V. Wimsett, presented Mr Brighouse with a Loewe pipe, and wished him good health - and prosperity in the future. Other speakers spoke in a similar strain. Mr Brighouse suitably returned thanks for the gift and kind sentiments that accompanied it.
