OFFERS OF LAND

TO INCREASE PRODUCTION. SCHEME TO ENSURE FULLEST USE. From time to time offers have been made to the local Production Council of areas of land in the district to: be used in the interests of increased production. Generally the terms are that the land can be used for two or three crops at no cost except that of the putting the area back into grass. The Council itself has not the facilities for handling such areas and it may be necessary to hand them over to local farmers or contractors in order that the fullest use may be made of them. Any farmer or contractor with the necessary equipment who would be interested in such a scheme is, therefore, advised to make contact with the local organiser of the council, Mr N. Lamont. Department of Agriculture, so as to ensure that he receives consideration when areas are made available in the above manner.
