ESCAPE FROM NORWAY
BRITISH OFFICIAL & FAMILY. BOAT'VOYAGE ACROSS NORTH SEA. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, August 20. Mr Thomas Spence, who was formerly the British vice-consul in Stavanger (Norway) arrived at Newcastle with his Norwegian wife and three children today after a two months’ journey across the North Sea in a 30ft. boat.
He said: “A German plane once circled overhead, but I pretended to be fishing.”
