THIRD ECHELON

COMPLIMENTED BY LORD GALWAY. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND. August 19. “I was delighted to see so splendid a parade and wish to compliment all concerned on their efficiency in marching, especially the Maori reinforcements,” said Lord Galway, Comman-der-in-Chief of the New Zealand Forces, paying a tribute to the men of the Third Echelon at Papakura today,x following a full-dress parade. “You arc preparing to take part in the greatest struggle in history singlehanded for justice and liberty,” he said. “In the first round the advantage lies with the enemy. He has over-run neutral countries and succeeded in knocking out France, but now we are scoring heavy points.
