RUGBY FOOTBALL THIRD GRADE FIXTURES. (“Times-Age” Special.) Saturday’s fixtures in the Bush Rugby Union’s third grade competition are as follows: —Eketahuna v Woodville, at Woodville; Mangatainoka v Hukanui, at Hamua; Nireaha v Athletic, at Pahiatua; Pahiatua. a bye.

The junior Cowan Cup final will be played between Hukanui and Woodville at Mangatainoka.

ODD FELLOWS’ LODGE FORTNIGHTLY MEETING. The fortnightly meeting of the Odd Fellows' Lodge was held on Tuesday night, P.G. Bro J. Davis presiding over a good attendance of members. Accounts amounting to £152 17s 6d were passed. A vote of condolence was passed to the relatives of the late Bro A. G. Shrimpton (Grand Secretary). The Lodge stood in silence as a mark of respect. The District Grand Master advised that he and his officers would be visiting Eketahuna Lodge on Saturday, August 24. It was decided to hold a special meeting on that date for the purpose of welcoming the visitors. Bro R. Farrow, on behalf of the lodge card team, presented the Card Cup to the Noble Grand, who extended congratulations to Bro Farrow and his team on their success in winning the trophy. GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFYING ROUNDS. The championship qualifying rounds were completed during the weekend by members of the Eketahuna Golf Club. The following players qualified: —■

Senior championship: M. Fraser, 77-81-158; J. Dickson, 79-80-159; P. Page, 82-80-162; D. Fraser, 82-81-163; H. Walton, 87-77-164; B. Anderson, 82-83-165; N. Richardson, 83-83-166; P. Bouzaid, 91-75-166. Junior championship: N. Liardet, 90-91-181; B. Bradley. 92-92-184; V. Anderson, 92-93-185; F. Mcßride, 94-94-188; O. Walton, 95-93-188; E. Simmers, 94-95-189; W. Quinlivan, 98-103-201; R. Dickson, 99-108-207. A bogey match will be played on Saturday. The following is the draw for the first round of the senior championship: M. Fraser v H. Walton, N. Richardson v P. Page, D. Fraser v P. Bouzaid, B: Anderson v J. Dickson. The draw for the first round of the junior championship is: N. Liardet v O. Walton, W. Quinlivan v V. Anderson, F. Mcßride v R. Dickson, B. Bradley v E. Simmers. The draw for the handicap flight for those eliminated from the championships is as follows: Rigden v Tuckett, Shale v Henderson, Murray v Fordyce, Marenzi v West, Pryde a bye. During the weekend P. Page handed in a card of 73 and P. Bouzaid 75. Peter Murray, in a game during the week, carded a 70, the lowest score recorded for some years. Concert Orchestra. A musical treat is in store for Alfredton residents on Monday night next when the h’Ketahuna Concert Orchestra and assisting artists will render a programme. A dance will follow.
