GERMAN LOSSES OF PLANES. IN FIGHTING OVER BRITAIN & CHANNEL. LONDON, August 14. The enemy activity last night was confined to a small number of planes. One factory was hit, a considerable number of houses were damaged, and some persons were seriously injured but very few fatally. The injuries and principal damage occurred in the Midlands, where bombs fell in two towns. For the past eight weeks the ratio of planes shot down in air activity over Britain and the English Channel has been 41 German to one British. The totals from June 18 till yesterday were: German, 543; British, 120.
