OBITUARY
MRS ELIZABETH HALFYARD. The friends of Mrs Elizabeth Halfyard will regret to hear of her death which occurred yesterday, after a short illness at the home of her brother, Mr J. Ackerman. 8 Totara Street, Lansdowne. The late Mrs Halfyard was born in Somerset. England, 72 years ago, and with her parents, the late Mr and Mrs FI. A. Parkvale, she came to New Zealand, when a girl, in 1879. She had resided in the Wairarapa district ever since, coming to Masterton in 1918, with her husband and family. Her husband and two daughters. Misses Ella and Sybil Halfyard predeceased her seven years ago, and her only son, Philip, 18 months ago. One daughter, Mrs Mark Hansen (Nelson) and three grandchildren are left to mourn their loss. Messrs W. and J. Ackerman (Lansdowne) are brothers, and Mesdames Gravestock (Lower Hutt), 1 J. Nunn (Kahautara), and Miss A. Ackerman (Kahautara) are sisters.
The funeral will take place tomorrow, leaving the residence of Mr J. Ackerman, 8 Totara Street, following a service which will be held at 11 a.m for the Masterton Cemetery.
