CORNMEAL PIKELETS

SOMETHING NEW FOR BREAKFAST. Sift | cup self-raising flour, i cup cornmeal, pinch salt, and 2 tablespoons sugar into a basin; beat 1 egg well, add a little more than 4 cup milk. Pour into centre of flour and mix well cogether. Dissolve T level teaspoon bicarbonate soda in about 1 tablespoon boiling water, add to batter with 1 dessertspoon melted butter. Beat well and bake in spoonfuls on a hot, gi eased girdle. Serve with honey or maple syrup.
