FINNS CHALLENGE SOVIET STATEMENT. SOME SMA.LL DEMONSTRATIONS. (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) (Received This Day, 11.0 a.m.) LONDON, August 1. The Finnish authorities state that Soviet reports of terrorism are exaggerated. Three hundred “Friends of the Soviet” demonstrated in Helsinki on June 30, shouting: “Down with the Government!” Some arrests were made. A similar demonstration occurred yesterday, when a crowd threw stones, injuring three policemen. A small demonstration occurred in Tampere.
BAN ON MEETINGS. AGAINST INTERESTS OF STATE. (Received This Day, 10.23 a.m.) HELSINKI, August 2. President Kallio has signed a law prohibiting meetings against the interests of the State and the disturbing of public order.
