The Trinity House tender Alert is the latest victim of Germany’s illegal attacks against lightships.'Three German planes bombed and machine-gun-ned the Alert, which was on its way to the lightship with thirty relief lightmen and a crew of thirty-nine. The bombs missed, but several members of the crew and lightmen were wounded.
